Size and Resolution

Shoot your images for your Buildatour.com tour in landscape format only, i.e. do not turn the camera on end. 

Images are displayed in our tours at 800X600.  Therefore, your images must be at least 800X600 for proper fit in our tour window.  You may upload any size image you like, provided it is at least 800X600, and has an aspect ratio of 4:3 (i.e. 800X600, 1024X768, 1600X1200, etc.). 

Cropping images will alter the aspect ratio, so make sure to resize the image to 4:3 aspect ratio after cropping.  Practically all comsumer digicams shoot at a 4:3 aspect ratio.  Some higher-end cameras shoot at a slightly different aspect ratio, but can be adjusted easily with photo editing software. 

Don't worry if your camera's aspect ratio is not exactly 4:3.  Many photo editing software packages will resize and modify the aspect ratio of photos.  Some will even make these adjustments to an entire directory of photos in a matter of seconds.  The two most popular software packages we recommend are Photoshop Elements and Paint Shop Pro 8.0.
